A Message From Lola Greenwood

Hello everyone! We’re so glad you’ve stopped by our page. Lola is about to start her 3rd year at the Little Light House and we’re excited to announce that she’ll be in the Aqua class this year! We have been beyond blessed by the Little Light House and are so lucky to be here. We learned about the Little Light House when Lola was just 3 days old, and got her on the waiting list when she was 3 weeks old. It’s one of the best decisions we have ever made! Lola was on the waiting list for about 2.5 years before a class opening was available for her. If you’re new here, let me first tell you a little bit about the LLH. It is a tuition free Christian school that serves children with special needs, birth to 6 years old. That’s right, tuition FREE! LLH would cost an average of $32,000 a year if my parents were paying my tuition. Because of wonderful donations from people like you, local foundations and charities my friends and I can go to this special school and our parents don’t have the burden of this hefty cost. LLH does not receive any money from United Way or the government. There are over 40 teachers, therapists and staff here that help me daily. I receive speech, occupational & physical therapy every day~~~now that’s amazing! I am also loved on, prayed over and cherished. This is what my parents truly appreciate. Now this is where my friends and I could use your help! There are so many costs that go along with running this state-of-the-art school. And of course we want all the teachers and therapists to have everything they need to help us learn and grow! One of the fundraisers my school does each year is Mini-Laps. This is so fun, because I get to be a part of it! On October 12th, each student will get to dress up (this year our theme is Made in Oklahoma) and take a lap around the LLH track. Some of my friends go around the track in their wheelchairs, others a kid walk and some even run! I would love for you to come and watch us! Every dollar we raise makes a difference. If you can’t donate at this time, that’s ok! But would you spread the word to your friends about how awesome our school is, because you never know who may want to help?!? My family is so thankful for me to have this opportunity... We want our whole community to know about the Little Light House! If you CAN donate at this time, you can do so here on my website, OR by mailing a check to the Little Light House 5120 E. 36th St. Tulsa, OK 74135. Please make sure you put in the memo that it’s for me, Lola Greenwood! My school is a 501(c)(3) organization and your gift is tax deductible. Thank you all sooooo much! Love, Lola

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Tulsa’s Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive government or United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
