A Message From Clarey Sharum

I am so blessed to get to work at a little piece of heaven on Earth, the Little Light House!! For those of you who haven’t heard me gush about the LLH before, it is a Christian Developmental Center for children with special needs. Each day, our kiddos learn and grow under a team of special education teachers and therapists (me!). Additionally, our administrative staff ensures our facility can run solely through private funding, and that our children can attend completely tuition free. This saves families $32,000 per year, the estimated cost to attend the LLH. So cool, right? Between doctor visits, surgical procedures and therapy visits, our families are already faced with many financial obligations. But, thanks to our incredibly generous donors, every kiddo attends for free! As I previously mentioned, the LLH is the best. place. ever!! We begin every morning with a staff wide Bible study before the children arrive. Here, we pray for our students, one another, and for friends and family in our community. Chances are, someone who will be reading this has been prayed for at one point or another by our staff! After Bible study, we go full speed ahead into our day! Our children’s schedules are jam packed with circle time, snack, lunch, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, vision therapy, Bible time, cooking, sensory play and more!! Plus we always leave time for the fun stuff - we do enough hugging, laughing, praying, dancing, singing and playing to last us a lifetime! I am so thankful for a community that supports me and God’s precious miracles. On September 14th, I will be participating in a fun run to celebrate the LLH! Whether it’s by contributing through donations, joining me at this event or simply praying for our organization, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Your generosity is a blessing to myself and the LLH! If you have questions or would like more information, please message me or visit our website at www.littlelighthouse.org! The LLH is a 501(c)(3) organization and any gift is tax deductible!

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Tulsa’s Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive government or United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
