A Message From Layton Oaks Haley

My name is Layton, I’m 5 years old, and this year will be my 4th year at the Little Light House. This school is so very special to me and my family. There is no other school like it! The Little Light House is a Christian Development Center, fully devoted to glorifying God by teaching and serving children with special needs. At the Little Light House, we have special teachers and therapists that help us learn what we need to know. Some of us need special equipment to help us learn and we all love the toys made especially for kids like us. Everyone is so nice, and we have lots of fun together. I have learned so much at the Little Light House – from walking and running to learning new words and signs. My school is a blessing to me, my family, and to all my friends. I wish everyone could go to a school like mine. What makes my school even more awesome is that it is tuition free to all our moms and dads. It costs a lot of money to get all the things we need at our school. If we were to add up the cost of all our classes, our highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and staff, the cost would amount to $30,000 per student per year! And yet, the Little Light House is free to all our families! This is a huuuuge blessing to so many families and their children. Now you may be asking, “How can this be done?” It’s all because of generosity and faith. My school is supported solely on the donations of generous people and their businesses. Our community believes so much in our school, what God is doing here that ALL of the money needed to help me and my friends comes from private donations! YOU CAN HELP TOO!! On October 10, 2020, the Little Light House will have our annual Mini-Laps event. At Mini-Laps, my friends and I get to go around the track at my school one time. I need YOU to support my school by sponsoring me when I take my lap. You can donate in my name right here on my Mini-Laps page. Or, you can send a check directly to the Little Light House. You can mail the check to 5120 E 36th St. Tulsa, OK 74135. Please make sure you put in the memo that your gift is for me, Layton Haley. Because my school is a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible! Thank you very much for supporting my school! I hope you can come and watch me on October 10! Isaiah 61:3 “…that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Tulsa’s Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive government or United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
