A Message From Kennedy Stines

The Little Lighthouse is a place where our kids can just be kids. Kids that are viewed no different than the next. Our children are genuinely loved and wanted at The Little Lighthouse. A wonderful place full of happiness, laughter, love, and celebrations. On April 29th, we will gather on the LLH campus as each class takes a lap to celebrate their milestones and amazing things they've achieved this year. I couldn't imagine navigating the unknowns of our new journey without the resources LLH provides, and the families we've grown to love along the way. We are blessed with unlimited access to Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Vision Specialists, Special Education Teachers, and Nurses. The Little Lighthouse celebrated 50 years in 2022 and is currently serving 200+ children with special needs, and we are grateful to be one of them! While on the 2+ year waitlist, we we're lucky enough to start an Early Intervention (EI) class at just 2 months old. We are in Mrs. Blair's class and it's by far our favorite day of the week! She has poured so much love and care into us, teaching us so much in such a short amount of time. Our experience at the LLH is enriched even more with the blessings from Mrs. Blair. Kennedy is the happiest little bubbly baby around, with a smile that just melts your heart! Every single thing about her is beautiful and special. Kennedy's rapid growth and development is owed not only to her hard work, but the resources and knowledge we've received through LLH. My gratitude is hard to put into words. Kennedy endured a major heart surgery at almost 5 months old is now thriving. Kennedy loves bath time and takes the best naps in the car. She isn't a fan of socks and LOVES to suck her thumb. She also has the best hair ever! This little girl is going to change the world. We are lucky to be a part of it. The average cost for one child to attend per year is $38,000 (for us EI kids, it is $5,000) but The Little Lighthouse is COMPLETELY TUITION FREE! Generous donors and organizations like you, allow LLH to be everything we could ever dream of and more. The Little Lighthouse is completed funded by donors. If you feel led to give your precious time; Check out www.littlelighthouse.org to find out how you can volunteer! Thank you from our family and all of our friends we love at school! LLH is a 501c3 nonprofit organization so all gifts are tax-deductible.

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Tulsa’s Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive government or United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
