A Message From Samuel Rodriguez

Sam has been attending Little Light House’s early intervention classes since he was 4 months old! He is currently in the Ladybug Class with the best group of little boys! 🐞 He has benefitted in more ways than one by doing so. He gets 1:1 hands on time with multiple therapists who genuinely care about his progress, milestones, and well being, as well as, teachers and staff who know his name and love him without question! They all have played an integral part to the success Sam has had in the past year. From eating tips, speech tricks, and PT/OT exercises that have helped Sam get to where he is now! Over this past year Sam has learned to walk, become more expressive through sign language and speech, found a love of singing songs, and grown in more ways than one! Little Light House was there alongside us and played a huge role in the new milestones Sam has reached. This last year he participated in and graduated from LLH's Food School program. This is where they introduce new foods/textures and work on self feeding! In his Tuesday class Sam also gets the opportunity to be with other little boys his age to interact and play allowing him to learn important social skills. We all have made a lifelong community with these boys and their parents in the process. The teachers and staff offer advice, resources, and the love a parent dreams of their child receiving in this capacity. Their educational approach enriches students academically, but spiritually as well. Their mission involves God in every step. It is amazing to see people that have dedicated their lives to the betterment of those like our Sam who have a disability and their families! Little Light House has been a safe place to navigate parenthood of a child with a disability and the BEST place for him grow and learn. This school is a beacon of God’s hope and love through every class, event, hug, laugh, and smile! We would love for anyone who feels led to help this mission to consider donating in honor of Sam!

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
