A Message From Park's Mom

Our sweet Parkour Parkour. Park proves YET is the goal line every day 🌈 Park is 5 years old, obsessed with water and mixing, loves to climb as high as anxiety can go, loves to groove and stim to Queen, and is autistic. We don’t have words to communicate (yet), but Park is always easy to find by his voice. Our journey hasn’t always been easy, but it got a whole lot easier when we found The Little Light House. We started in the Family Learning Center (FLC) program where we were connected with community, support, next steps through so many unknowns, and just a welcoming home base with open arms. We’re so grateful for this school, not only because of the growth and changes we’ve seen in Park, not only for the genuine love each and every LLH team member and volunteer pours into our son, not only for the community it’s provided when the world of disability can feel so lonely and isolating, but because it’s undoubtedly one of the most joyful places in the world. It literally shines so much light on every corner it touches, and then that light spreads. What makes The Little Light House even more incredible is that it is completely tuition-free for families like ours. Because of the generosity of this community, children like Park can receive the education, therapies, support, and love they deserve regardless of a family's ability to pay. Park is THRIVING here and is surrounded by so many beautifully gifted kiddos, loving families, and LLH staff who shower this school with compassion and care every single day. We are beyond thankful to be here and grateful that there is a place like The Little Light House for little ones like our Park. This year, we're fundraising through Mini Laps, where we'll celebrate Park's achievements at the end of the school year while helping support this amazing place. Every dollar helps ensure The Little Light House can continue to be a home filled with opportunity, joy, and hope for generations of children to come, and forever be a place for kiddos like Park ✨

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
