A Message From Brantlie’s Team

Hi Everybody! My name is Brantlie, my family likes to call me Bear. I’m 5 and a half years old and I was born with a rare genetic disorder. There are so few cases that there is almost no research on it. Because of it I am delayed but I never let that stop me! I love to run and jump and play just like other little kids but I really love tumbling. I’m a very determined little thing, at least that what my mommy and Mimi like to say. I never let my disability hold me back. The coolest thing is happening this August! After a long wait, I finally get to go to The Little Lighthouse! What is The Little Lighthouse you ask? Well it is a nonprofit Christian school for special little kids like me, how cool is that!! We have super awesome special teachers and therapist that help us learn every day. I get to learn how to talk with my iPad!! My parents are so excited! It costs lots of money to get all the things we need at our school. Some schools make the mommies and daddies pay for school... but not mine! I get to go there for free! My school doesn’t get any money from the Government or United Way. All the money we get comes from individual and corporate donors. Some grown ups think its so amazing that all the money comes from private donations. I really wanna help my school! The big people get to run in “Laps for Little Ones”, but since I’m still small, my school has a “Mini Laps” just for us! I get to go around the track at my school one time. We get to dress up and all our family and friends get to cheer us on! Me and some of my friends get to walk and run around our track, some get to rider scooters and bikes, others get to dress up their wheelchairs and wagons and cruise around the track. This year our theme is Made in Oklahoma! It’s so much fun, I hope you can all come watch and cheer me on. I need people to sponsor me when I make my lap, so I can help my school. If you would like to make a donation, you can give a check to my mommy (made out to TLLH)before Tuesday, October 10th. You can also send it in the mail to The Little Light House at 5120 E 36th St Tulsa, OK 74135 or make donations here on my webpage! Make sure you tell them My Name so they will know that you are sponsoring me. Because my school is a 501(C)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible... what ever that means! Thank you for helping me and my school!!!!

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Tulsa’s Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive government or United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
