A Message From Augustus Zittritsch

Hello there!  I'm Augustus Stephen, and you've tuned in for a special feature on survival, adaptation, and the relentless pursuit of milestones in the unique and vital ecosystem known as the Little Light House (LLH). This spring, brace yourselves, because the final migration is upon us! My LAST Mini-Laps—the annual, highly-anticipated, parent-led fundraiser for my school—is happening this spring. Mini Laps is a primary source of sustenance for this extraordinary habitat, and I'm on a critical mission to gather the resources needed to ensure my friends continue to receive FREE life-altering, educational and therapeutic services. ________________________________________ The Great LLH Migration: Mini-Laps 2026 YOU are the vital nutrient in this food chain! Your support can help us reach every crucial inch-stone and conquer LLH's fundraising peaks. Then, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, the spectacle begins! You're invited to witness the grand finale, the celebration of every single milestone you helped make possible. Picture this: A pack of determined little mammals—my friends and I—taking a triumphant lap around the LLH track, fully camouflaged and dressed like we emerged straight from your television screen in full Animal Planet regalia! It’s less a race and more a majestic procession of tiny, decorated champions. ________________________________________ Evolution of the Species: The GusGus Field Notes As this is my fourth time cruising the track, I’ve earned my stripes. Let me update you on my recent evolutionary leaps, thanks to the tireless scientists (teachers and therapists) at Little Light House! Last year was a veritable jungle, but I quickly bonded with an expert tracker, my Connected Learning teacher, Mindy. Together, we began the demanding process of learning Partner Assisted Communication. This essential survival skill has continued to be a focus, and I’m now a dominant communicator in my territory! My beloved pack in PINK Class continues to interact with me daily. I can clearly express my needs: how I feel, who I demand to see, what activities I require, and which toys are currently most appealing. Critical data point: I have determined that sheep are fundamentally superior to cows. Also, sudden awakenings are a hostile act. And while my mother’s sudden, startling intrusions sometimes confuse me, I find her resulting fuss and concern quite amusing—a comical display of parental anxiety in the wild. ________________________________________ A Call to the Pack: The Power of the Donation Your past contributions have given me a voice in the wild! They are the essential fuel that helps my friends walk, see, eat, and, most importantly, play and have fun. Please take a moment to reflect on your ability to contribute to this crucial ecosystem. Every tiny achievement—my smallest of movements and expressions—brings immense joy to my family unit. We celebrate these little victories, because in our world, they aren’t just moments; they are our great stories of triumph! Can you lend your strength to help the Little Light House pack thrive and make this migration the most successful yet? Sincerely, Augustus "GusGus" Stephen Zittritsch  The LLH Communicator P.S. Spy my friends at last year's migration in the YouTube video above!

In Support of Little Light House

Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center for Children with Special Needs from birth to 6 years old. Little Light House is internationally recognized as providing some of the most individualized special education and therapeutic early intervention services in the world. A trans-disciplinary team approach maximizes a comprehensive knowledge from professionals who work collaboratively to design prescriptive programs for each child and assist every child in reaching their maximum potential. Through a variety of programs and schedules, these services are carried out by highly credentialed teachers, therapists, and specialists who represent decades of pediatric experience. Early Intervention classes are provided as a part-time program where caregivers attend and learn along with their child for two-hour classes once a week.

Little Light House is tuition-free for families and does not receive United Way funding. Support comes from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, LLH hosts four annual fundraisers each year bringing in about 40% of the $4.2 million dollar operating cost that allows our staff of over 90 members to provide services to over 300 children and families, support nearly a thousand volunteers, and train over 1,000 college and career students each year.

Little Light House believes that all children are a gift from God with the potential to achieve specific milestones to advance their quality of life. We strive for excellence by utilizing a Bible-based curriculum in a fun and loving atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, trans-disciplinary and God-centered approach to education-an approach that joins parents, professionals, and the Holy Spirit as partners in order to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the children and their families. Our commitment incorporates being called to work/volunteer with children with special needs. Little Light House encourages a positive outlook on the future, based on trust in a loving heavenly Father.
